GoldenLongbows Shoot to thrill, ready to kill.

The Golden Longbows is a level 4 Archer Tower in Kingdom Rush: Origins, unlocked in stage 8, Grimmsburg. They resemble the Musketeer Garrison from the original game: firing slowly but very accurately, with high individual damage, from the longest range in the game. If the target is within short range (scope: 300), they shoot faster, while the damage is reduced to a third.

Description[]

"Golden Longbows are accurate, disciplined archers that deal death from far far away."

Golden Longbows' attacks have a 6% (1% in short range) chance of dealing double damage, which deals True Damage. It is shown as CRIT.

Strategy[]

  • Golden Longbow works best as a support tower for your main defenses, and is the best tower for single targets in the game. This is because Golden Longbow has a terrible DPS to price ratio, but Hunter's Mark multiplies the damage one enemy takes from ALL sources. Crimson Sentence is extremely useful vs high HP enemies, but nearly useless against masses of weak enemies.
  • Golden Longbow has the worst crowd control in the game due to the slow fire rate and nonexistent area damage. Due to this, it is not advised to build Golden Longbow early in a level, where weak enemies come in masses.
  • Most of the time, it is not advised to max out Hunter's Mark as almost all enemies will die from the damage multiplier far before the duration runs out. Level 2 of Hunter's Mark is sufficient in almost all cases.
  • Purchase Crimson Sentence early to kill off Twilight Avengers and Satyr Hoplites before they threaten your defense with their abilities, and begin buying Hunter's Mark as the Twilight Golem and Bandersnatches come.
  • Hunter's Mark synergizes very well with Arch-Druid Henge's Sylvan Curse, dealing damage to all enemies near the common target. Together, these two towers set up a deadly choke points for grouped enemies. But this strategy depends on luck to proc on the same target, and that the target has high HP.
  • You should try to place Golden Longbow in out-of-the-way spots far from choke points, where other towers do not have the range to be effective. Furthermore, Golden Longbow does less DPS if it shoots at enemies that are very close to it.
